CNY was spent away in some place windy and pretty bad in transportation, you need to grab a cab to go anywhere. But it doesnt really matter when you're spending invaluable time with the coolest ppl of the entire world. This year's cny was different. I wasn't back home. I had a great time in a different land. But it was different. All I want is them being happy (:

I see glitters in their eyes (: I'm TRULY a blessed child.

HAPPY CHINESE NIUUUUUUU YEAR EVERYONE!

Well, initially, this blog was meant to be a journey to the west and it ends there, happy ending. But, now it doesn't seem like it. So sorry for the long absenteeism. And yes, I'm back to reality, woken up, realising just today that I didn't register for one of my core subjects. Ain't I brilliant. haha.
And yes, I'm staying in old hall, somewhere up the hills and near to the food. It's a nice cosy place. Despite the fact that there are cheerleading practices every night right in front of my block, it's a real nice and windy place. Let's not talk about the toilet washing part. Sometime later. Maybe.
And no, I'm not going back home for cny. And yes, I know it's a tad stupid to come back at this time of the year when almost everyone has gone back already. I need to attend lab sessions you see, life's tough back here. lol
But on a happier note, I had a VERY SHORT home retreat right after my return. It was great. I'm trying to settle down, picking up the pieces too. I'm trying to convince myself that this is wonderland no more but what reality lies and holds. Just, pls give me a lil time.
So anyway, I really want to write a summary about my exchange but I really don't know where to start.
I'll be off to somewhere else for cny (: parents are the best.
So to pen off, pls purchase Choir's Concert tickets if you love music and would like to have a relaxing sat night on march 7. It's our 20th anniversary, and the beat goes on.

The rest of the ppl, I WILL HUNT EACH OF YOU DOWN AFTER CNY, MUAHAHAHA

Brunch in London Malaysian Hall!

I am supposed to blog about my final travel down south and I'm supposed to study for my last paper too, but I'm too lazy/indulged in packing/can't wait to go home/simply giving reasons.

Was in England for.. 4 days. Visited Stonehenge (it's actually not as big as you might think of), Windsor Castle and Roman bath from London, met up with primary sch mates (after 5 years?!?), went to Coventry and then to Manchester (again). Okay, more than half of the time of the trip was spent on the budget bus. And I think when I'm getting used to this very cold winter weather, I'm coming back already. I'm perspiring in winter. This is insane. But I can't wait to sweat MORE (: ok, till I complain. haha
Happy Birthday Gentle Giant! Have a good one!
*cheeeeeeeeers*

Trip to Kelvingrove Musuem was fun (: Knowing that how lil time we are left with, we visited some famous spots in glasgow, like the Mitchell Lib (which was by coincidence) and this beautiful and interactive musuem. Glasgow has more than what it looks. We have been bumping into a lot of historical moments during world war 2, especially those regarding concentration camps for the Jews. Sad, but all so true. we all have good lives.
Oh, watched Australia too. haha other than Hugh Jackman is so macho-you-can-die-for-him, Nicole Kidman is as elegant as ever. Her cheekiness definitely made the movie a more light-heartened one. Despite it's a 3 hour long movie, it's worth the watch (: Nah, it's not as massive as pearl harbour, not as crazily romantic too but it talks a lot about family values and how ppl perservere to live, very inspiring. so go watch!
I still can't imagine I'm leaving in 10 days. Time really does fly.

Happy New Year with love

Was talking to my Darling through msn! Missing you!!!! Arghhhhhh, yes yes our date at Wala Wala (:
My previous post pretty summed up where I've been to for the winter break. I delibrately dropped my trip to Budapest cos it was where I've spent my Christmas. Christmas was meant to be celebrated with ppl you love, checked. Christmas was meant to be 'special', checked. Christmas was supposed to have turkey but i had Thai food so it's ok, checked. And Christmas is srsly not about huge celebration. In Budapest or any EU country, it's about spending time with your family members. So, Budapest was like a dead city with completely nth on christmas eve. haha. And nope, i did not have a white christmas, but definitely a freezing cold one. But Budapest is gorgeous, rather unkempt but it's all good. We counted down in a pub playing bluff. Merry Christmas to you if I've failed to get to you.
We normally travelled around by train (yes, very time-consuming but it's the cheapest way to travel around europe) with our eurail passes. All the train services were good I would say. However, all hell broke loose on our way to the last destination, krakow, poland. Dark, dirty, gloomy and vacant, it was like a haunted train, haunted by the most evil creature you can imagine, the homo sapiens. The boys were stolen not once, not twice but trice! It was traumatic. If you have a choice, try not to take a night train in eastern europe, unless you have a strong heart. lol. what an experience.
But if Budapest is unkempt, Krakow is worse. One of the days there was spent at the Auschwitz concentration camp. We got the best tour guide ever. We were as if brought back to time. It was so saddening I don't feel like talking about it. I'm just very very very grateful to every single lil thing in life.
New year eve was celebrated at Sylwester 2008, Krakow's countdown party. I still couldn't believe we stood 4 freaking hours for leona lewis and were not frozen to death. In the end, leona lewis was not all worth the wait but the experience was err, unique. but pls dont try this celebration if you are clastrophobic.

2008 has been like the tower of terror ride in Paris Disneyland - lots of ups and downs (literally), but defintely more ups this time round. 2008 was spent in more than 10 countries around the world. 2008 has the best memories in life which I'll definitely hold on to for a very long time. I've changed quite a bit in 2008, learnt a lot too. The exchange is coming to an end, it's like I'm finally going to wake up from this dream. And I really can't wait to wake up (:
Since I've taken like 1800 pictures (amazing right i know), I'll TRY to filter and only post, pictures about makanan! (albeit many of the times we had pizza, kebab and pizza, again) yoohoo!
Dumplings from Austria and Czech Republic are a must try! (i know that's a lot of food but it's a 14-day backpack so what do you expect, lol)

sweet stuff and soups!

coffee, tea or me? (or beer? or stout?) ICE CREAM anytime! (:

lots of love for the new year to come, another splendid one maybe? *hugseveryone*
